WHEREAS, public concern over the impact of Federal subsistence provisions in the Alaska Lands Act still exists; and
WHEREAS, the National Wildlife Federation has recognized that a subsistence priority hinders sound wildlife management practices;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the National Wildlife Federation, in annual meeting assembled March 17-20, 1983, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, urges the Subcommittee on Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation of the U.S. House of Representatives to review the impact of the Alaska Lands Act on fish and wildlife resources in Alaska; and further to entertain remedial legislation should such be deemed desirable.
