States’ Rights to Manage Fish and Wildlife

WHEREAS, it has traditionally been the right of individual States to manage their fish and resident wildlife; and

WHEREAS, the State of Alaska was granted similar rights as per the Statehood Act and its State Constitution;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the National Wildlife Federation, in annual meeting assembled March 22-25, 1979, in Toronto, Ontario, that the right to manage fish and resident wildlife should remain exclusively with the individual States.
