WHEREAS, the Nation is involved in an agricultural program that promotes optimum production with little consideration for conservation practices or wildlife values; and
WHEREAS, there is a dire need for improving conservation practices and making them more attractive to wildlife;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the National Wildlife Federation, in annual meeting assembled March 19-21, 1976, in Louisville, Ky., hereby reiterates its support for the implementation of an already-established Wildlife Acreage Set Aside Program to provide small areas on which wildlife may live and reproduce; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the program encourage and compensate the owners or operators of farms for planting the acreage to a soil-conserving crop that is attractive to wildlife.
